A little known fact about Bavaria Germany is that it is home to one of the world’s most beautiful year round Christmas stores. This store, called Kaethe Wohlfahrt Christmas Village Store is located in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, which is a town in the district of the Franconia region of Bavaria Germany. This unique Christmas store is said to house over 30,000 traditional decorations that scream ‘German’. The store opened up in the year 1981; and it had attracted millions of tourists who flock here from all over the world. It isn’t just the decorations that get people excited about being in this 365 day Christmas Winter Wonderland. It is the way that these extraordinary numbers of items have been presented amidst an indoor Bavarian village which comes replete with snow-topped roofs and a whopping number of tiny lights. The 16 feet high Christmas tree is covered with over 1,000 glass decorations. The masterfully created ornaments and figurines are all hand-crafted. All of these ornaments and decorations on sale here are original; and you wouldn’t find them anywhere else in the world.
German Christmas Museum:

The second floor of the Kaethe Wohlfahrt Christmas Village Store at Rothenburg is said to house a unique German Christian museum. Herald Wohlfahrt started contemplating traditional Christmas celebrations during the era of his forefathers. He wanted to chart the traditional and historical development of this festivity. The museum also focuses on the secular customs of the festival for all those who’d be interested in learning more about Christmas.
