    Scandinavia is said to be a geographical and historical region that is said to be centered on the peninsula of Scandinavia; and this lies in the region of Northern Europe. Scandinavia, as a region, is best described as the three kingdoms that share the region. These get represented by the countries – Denmark Sweden Norway Iceland Finland Unfortunately, not too many people choose Scandinavia as a holiday spot.   • Iceland Volcano – Eyjafjallajokull
    Eyjafjallajokull (which means Island-mountain-glacier) is said to be one of the ‘smaller’ ice caps of Iceland. It covers the caldera of the Guonasteinn volcano; and has a summit elevation of about 1,666 meters. This is quite an active volcano with its last few eruptions happening in 1821, 1823 and lastly in 2010. THE 2010 ERUPTION British Civil Aviation authorities had to shut down the whole air-route that engulfs Europe. The volcanic ash from Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull (popularly known as the Iceland volcano) had begun to cause problems already. It erupted twice in the month of April in 2010. It shot steam and smoke into the air; and forced the cancellation of almost all flights coming into and out of Europe.     Iceland is among the most geologically interesting countries on the earth. It boasts some of the most barren and volcanic landscapes. Traveling to this country will be an experience of lifetime. Iceland has almost everything that a tourist demands like fantastic waterfalls, volcano’s, geysers, snowy mountains, geothermal pools and grassy plains.
