    The word ‘Gobekli Tepe’ gets its name from the Turks, and means ‘hill with a potbelly’. The speciality of this place is that there is a sanctuary that is erected atop the highest point of an elongated mountain ridge, and it lies in the town of Urfa, in southeastern Turkey. Site to the first ever temple of the world? The elongated massive carved stones are what add to the character of this region. These date back to 11,000 years back, and are said to have been crafted and arranged by prehistoric men without the help of any metal tools.
