The river takes you through places which has many historical buildings , palaces and other sites. Also you will see a variety of cultures that pass you by as you go along the length of the river. Europe’s most famous capitals , of art, culture, fashion and education.
The river essentially runs through Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia and Romania.
The river is what used to be the best trade route in Europe. The banks of the river is filled with historic sites that are just amazing with spires and finely sculpted architecture.
Danube’s main port is Kelheim. Regensburg is the oldest city on the river. The river is so wide and logistically advantageous because the width of the river is enough to support a fair amount of traffic.
Passu is a large town which is located on the rivers router. The city is built around the bottom of a hill which houses the Veste Oberhaur which is the fortress of the bishop. This place is surrounded by rivers on most sides.
Linz is much later on the river, and between Passu and Linz there are many small villages. The Schlogener Schlinge loop is so amazing that you have to go along a big bend in the river that turns you almost in a full U turn . This turn comes up after Neuhaurs.
Wachau is a region which has a lot of wine plantation. The grapes grow in terraces because the hills are so steep. And treat yourself to one of the many wine boutiques that lie on the rivers gorge.
Between Mel and Mrems the river passes through many vineyards and orchards.
Vienna is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. This city will make you want to stay back and enjoy yourself here. The baroque architecture is just out of this world. If you are in the city for a very short tie then do remember to come back as this is a place you do not want to miss exploring.
The city is famous for its concert halls and cafes.
The capital of Bratislava which is what comes after Vienna. The architecture here is just amazing. Also the city is filled with many stories from its history and you can still see cobbled streets and baroque. When you walk the streets, its like being in an old and pleasant dream.
