When you are in Croatia enjoy the land of excitement, pleasure and historical interests. Located on the northern Adriatic Sea, this is a place where the tourist pleasures are greatly highlighted by simple sights and beautiful attractions.

An earlier settlement of the Illyrian tribes this is a place built on an island that lies close to the coast. Initially it was connected to the mainland and today it is a great tourist spot.

While here you can go around the city and visit some of the best tourist locales.

Rovinj

Visit the tower of St. Euphemia and see this highest point in the city of Rovinj. From here you can enjoy the beautiful sights of the place and just bask in the travel pleasure of the archipelago of Rovinj. Today the tower is an exact copy of the bell tower of the St. Mark’s Basilica which lies in Venice. There is a bronze statue of Saint Euphemia which stands on the spire. This statue rotates on the axis and  shows the direction of the wind. with the right hand. See the Baroque church which houses the sarcophagus of the patrons of the city.

Take a stroll in the old city and visit the Carrera Street which is replete with small shops and galleries. The Bregovita Street is also another beautiful lane which forms the mainstay of the city and is worth visiting. Then you have the Grisia which is famous for its exhibition of traditional paintings. It is best to go around these streets and enjoy them during a light stroll.

Enjoy the bike trails here in the region of the Golden Cape Park Forest. This is a great venue for having ideal cycling experiences and great hiking pleasures. Nature is at its best here and this old protected park in the area of Istria is a greatly pleasurable destination for all the tourists who are interested to enjoy natural beauty. Experience the Himalayan cedars, Mediterranean vegetation and exotic cypresses that dominate the vegetation of this region.

Then you have the beautiful Batana Museum which is a museum that has been dedicated to the locally famous flatboat that is the Batana. Made of modern constructions and  multimedial characters this is a place where you can find a 15 minute projection of how the flatboat is crafted with the background of bitinada the capella song.

Then of course you have the ancient settlement of Monkodonjo that goes back to the Bronze Age and is situated around 5 km from Rovinj. This has been specially conserved and has walls encircling the entire area and is divided into three parts – the living quarters, the crafts district and the central barrow. More than thousand inhabitants live here.

Birdwatchers find Rovinj a great bird watching paradise with the Palud Ornithological Reserve located here in this area. Situated around 10 km from Rovinj, there is a great variety  of birds here in this reserve which is famous for its lovely bird population. The biodiversity here is extremely rich and the lovely fusion bog and sea gives enough protection to the entire place.

Enjoy a good dinner at the Wine Vault Restaurant which is famous for its delicious gourmet and 5 star cuisine. The Monte Muline gives  great gastronomical pleasures which has a combination of French cuisine and rich wine from across the world.

Scuba diving is a great sport here in the region of the wreck area of the Baron Gautsch ship. Swimming and fishing are other water sport activities here.
